Sundi McLaughlin

Sunrise Title: President of the Sunrise Board and Chair Woman of SunFlix (the committee that chooses the films).

Fun Fact: Sundi loves to bake, go to movies, and writes a column for Pinehurst Living Magazine! She also has a huge Lab named Dodge whom she Loves.

Current Job: Owner of Mockingbird on Broad (right next door)

How long have you been a Sunrise Volunteer: 7 years.

Favorite Sunrise Memory: I loved sponsoring Dirty Dancing last year during the Summer Classic Series. The theater had such great energy that night. People were singing, “I Had the Time of My Life” during the final scene and booing when the horrible boyfriend Robbie came on screen as well as cat call Patrick Swayze a few times.

Favorite Movie: Shawshank Redemption

 

Geoff Cutler

Sunrise Title: Vice President. Many, many committees, including public relations, landscape, and outdoor stage committee.

Fun Fact: I sit in one of the seats on The Sunrise Preservation Group vacated by my mother, Lloyd Cutler. She loved and supported the Sunrise for many years. I get a kick out of continuing on with her legacy.

Current Job: I own Cutler Tree LLC in Southern Pines. We are a full service tree care company.

How long have you been a Sunrise Volunteer: Good question. A long time.

Favorite Sunrise Memory: Watching the school children get off their buses to come see a matinee showing of Polar Express. Their excitement to be at the theater was something to see.

Favorite Movie: Too many to call. Seen the most times? The Godfather.

Craig E. Pryor

Fun Fact: Craig is an adventuresome chef and cyclist, who always needs chapstick he doesn’t have.

How long have you been a Sunrise Volunteer: 7 years

Favorite Sunrise Memory: Tough choice. Pat “Mother Blues” Cohen singing Happy Birthday for my 66th at the Blues Crawl. She sounded exactly like Marilyn Monroe to me.

Favorite Movie: Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window

Herb Cameron

Sunrise Title: Past President, Executive Committee, SunEvents Committee, Sunrise Square Stage Committee

Fun Fact: I once hitchhiked alone through Alaska for two weeks. Not the smartest thing I've ever done - but exhilerating!

Current Job: Retired, Full time husband, parent & grandparent

How long have you been a Sunrise Volunteer: 9 years

Favorite Sunrise Memory: As a child, I attended Saturday morning scary movies for a quarter and it was magical!

Favorite Movie: Toss up between Lincoln and The Last Waltz (I never tire of it).

 

Carol Duffy

Fun Fact: during my Foreign Service career I traveled with White House Presidential advance teams under President George H.W. Bush to Martinique, Miami, and San Antonio

Current Job: retired from the Foreign Service after 26 years of service mostly abroad in ten different countries

How long have you been a Sunrise Volunteer: Board 7 years & SunFlix 8 years

Favorite Sunrise Memory:  first time we started the Summer Classic Films “The British Are Coming”. This series of British films was so successful it ultimately led to our annual Summer Classic Movies.
