Dolly posterCOMING SOON

During the last 25 years, Dolly Parton has quietly built one of the largest literacy-focused non-profits in the world. Started as a gift for the children of her hometown of Sevierville, Tennessee, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in now active in all 50 states and five countries and delivers more than 1.5 million free, age-appropriate books to children every month.

THE LIBRARY THAT DOLLY BUILT goes behind-the-scenes of this unprecedented program to show how one of the most famous performers in the world has developed an efficient and effective program, beloved almost universally by its recipients. Weaved throughout the story of the Imagination Library is a biographical sketch of Dolly Parton, featuring rare photos and films from her childhood. Unlike most biographies of Dolly, it doesn’t focus on her music. Instead it demonstrates that at every point in her career, any time she has had success, Dolly Parton has come back to Sevierville to give back to her people.

Three retirees decide to move away from Rome to find a better standard of living in a country where their meagre pensions will go that much further. Planning for the trip sees the trio trawl the pubs and restaurants of a sun saturated Rome and discover that even at an old age they can still learn one or two lessons about themselves and life. Gianni Di Gregorio, Italy’s laconic answer to Larry David, returns to the humanist comic territory of arthouse hits Mid-August Lunch and The Salt of Life with Citizens of the World, a warm and delightful reflection on life with characters you’ll want to spend many more hours with long after the credits roll.

NOW SHOWINGHarry Chapin poster

Documentary, Biography

A documentary that tells the story of singer/songwriter/activist Harry Chapin's dedication to trying to end world hunger before his tragic passing.

The role of the balladeer — writer-performers whose story songs tells us about ourselves, our lives, and our collective concerns through lyrics and melodies — is to weave together the social, political, creative, and communal parts of a national tapestry.

In the 1970s, Harry Chapin turned the musical conversation towards, among other things, parents and children, hurt-yet-hopeful soulmates, and the ordinary people who have the power to make a bitter and broken nation heal.

HARRY CHAPIN: WHEN IN DOUBT, DO SOMETHING illustrates that if Chapin had not died in a car accident on July 16, 1981 at age 38, he would have surely kept on doing as much as he could, as fast as he could.
