Reopening the Sunrise is a slow and careful process. We've studied the regulations and health & safety guidelines then applied them meticulously to our theater. The health and safety of all guests, volunteers, and staff is our priority.
Special filters have been added to our HVAC system to further improve the air quality. Throughout the day, doors will be open to let in fresh, clean air. During the movie, all common areas are repeatedly cleaned and disinfected. After each movie, staff thoroughly cleans and disinfects the auditorium including seats and armrests. And finally, the entire theater is disinfected with a medical-grade atomizer fogger which kills viruses on contact.
Although regulations allow 30% capacity, the Sunrise is taking a conservative approach and capacity will be closer to 25% or less. Only every third row will be used, and three empty seats will be left between families/groups. All groups will be seated on an aisle - no climbing over others to get to your seat. You will have plenty of room to social distance from all other groups.
Please monitor your health - If you have symptoms such as fever or cough, or have come in contact with someone with symptoms, please take care and come back to the Sunrise when you are well.
When attending a movie or performance, seats will be assigned in advance or at the point of purchase. Seat assignments may only be changed through the Sunrise Box Office. General admission is not permitted. Relocating to open seats is not permitted unless re-assigned by the Box Office.
Masks must be in place before entering the theater building or the outdoor theater. Face masks are required for every guest with no exceptions. Masks must fully cover nose and mouth. Open-neck bandanas may not be worn in place of an approved face mask. Face guards may not be worn unless accompanied by an approved face mask. If you're unable to wear a mask, please visit the Sunrise at a future date when masks are no longer required.
Medical experts have determined that masks are unsafe for children under the age of two yet children that young can still acquire the disease as well as transmit it even while asymptomatic. Therefore, we ask parents to either have their baby in a carrier with a cover, or bring their child back to the theater when wearing a mask is safe or no longer required.
For indoor performances, masks must be worn AT ALL TIMES and may only be TEMPORARILY removed when ACTIVELY eating or drinking WHILE SEATED. Eating and drinking in the lobby area or hallway is no longer permitted.
At the outdoor theater, masks must be worn at all times except when seated in an assigned circle. All guests must replace their masks BEFORE leaving their seating circle.
For all private rentals, the host is responsible to inform their guests of all theater rules PRIOR to the date of the event. Failure to follow the rules will result in an immediate termination of the event without a refund.
