CLASSIC - Blade Runner - Sponsored by Swank Coffee Shoppe

Sunrise Summer Classics - Blade Runner (1982) R | 1h 57min | Sci-Fi, Thriller Stars Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, and Sean Young In a futuristic dystopian world set in 2019, a company develops human clones called replicants who are used as slaves. A former police officer is hired as a blade runner to hunt down fugitive replicants living in Los Angeles. Blade Runner Movie Trivia: Blade Runner was the last movie shown in the Sunrise Theater before it closed in the 80s, unable to compete with new theaters. Joanna Cassidy as Zhora was quite comfortable acting with a Burmese python around her neck – it was her pet named Darling. Director Ridley Scott cast Rutger Hauer in the film without ever meeting or auditioning him. During a difficult scene with Sean Young, Harrison Ford mooned Sean to break the ice. The first version of the movie ran four hours and cast & crew thought it was incomprehensible. The voice-over narration and a happier, new ending were added by producers based on test-audience feedback. Blade Runner flopped at the box office because it opened the same weekend as ET. It later went on to receive critical praise and cult status. Blade Runner is sponsored by Swank Coffee Shoppe.
